Principal’s Message

2026 marks another meaningful chapter in Jurong Primary School’s journey. Building on strong foundations, we continue to grow as a joyful community where teaching and learning are purposeful, relationships are nurtured and every child is supported to grow well.
Our focus on Joy in JPS continues, with a deeper emphasis on the Joy of Teaching and the Joy of Learning. This year, we see this come to life through the completion of key learning spaces. The newly constructed J Block, the new school library and the opening of the school field and playground have expanded how students learn, interact and grow. These spaces invite collaboration, curiosity and joy in learning beyond the classroom.
With CCAs now consolidated on the same day, students also have more space and time during the week for targeted learning and support – during and after school. This allows teachers to work more intentionally with students, strengthening learning foundations while attending to individual needs and well-being.
We also recognise that growing up comes with challenges. Occasional misunderstandings with peers, moments of frustration and learning to self-manage are all part and parcel of life. These moments, while sometimes uncomfortable, are also meaningful opportunities for growth. Research reminds us that children build resilience when trusted adults provide both support and space, helping them reflect and make sense of their experiences. Learning to bounce back is an exciting and rewarding part of growing up and a much-needed quality in today’s world.

This is where the partnership between home and school matters deeply. Both parents and teachers play a significant role in helping children reflect, regulate emotions and learn from challenges. Here, I implore parents to support my teachers wholeheartedly and trust them to journey alongside your children through both successes and struggles. When parents and teachers stand together, children experience consistency, care and confidence.
As we step into 2026, let us continue this journey with trust and shared purpose. May Jurong Primary School remain a place where joy is lived daily, learning is meaningful and resilience is quietly strengthened.
“Resilience grows when children are supported to face life, not shielded from it.”
Together, let us make 2026 a year of joyful learning, purposeful teaching and strong partnership at Jurong Primary School.
Yours in service.
